Laura's Prothonotary Warbler pictures

Prothonotary warbler in Trempealeau, WI, photos June, 2006. Scott Lee took the photos of the eggs and the two following photos, showing the adult on the porch railing and on the wreath. I came on June 3, 2006, and photographed the adult male--he was very skittish so the best I got were these back-lit photos, with the Sony DSC-H5.
Scott Lee sent these photos. The top left one was taken when the babies were about 8 days old, on June 18th. The other three, of the adult male bringing food in and flying off, and of the more feathered babies, were taken on June 22, when the babies were about `12 days old.
Aw!! The photos of the fledgling to the left was taken on June 24: Scott Lee writes: " All 6 Prothonatary babies fledged on the 24th and, as far as I can tell, all are doing well... I moved him/her to
a safer location off the deck (too many people around that day to stay there), making sure mom could see. He eventually flew to a branch and was "peeping" for Mom, who I had seen hanging around. A VERY happy ending for all involved and a great experience for both Aiden and I!
The 5 photos of an adult bird above were photographed at Picnic Point on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus on June 18, 2005. Digiscoped with Zeiss 85mm Diascope (and 23-30x eyepiece) and Canon PowerShot SD500 in a great hurry while the bird was in view.
