Sound Recording: Pileated Woodpecker fledgling

Recorded on July 14, 2023 Recorded in Peabody Street, Duluth, MN

This is the daughter of my banded male Pileated Woodpecker (BB). The entire time he was eating at my feeder, she was calling softly from the box elder next to my house as I leaned out my upstairs window. I recorded this with my Zoom-H6 with the built-in shotgun microphone at pretty close range—according to my camera’s EXIF, she was about 15 feet away. The photo is of her a few minutes before I got the recording.
