This distinctive jay is found in Colombia, northwestern Venezuela, Panama and far eastern Costa Rica, in subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and heavily degraded former forest. I’ve seen them only once on several trips to Costa RIca but several times on just one trip to Panama.
