One of the largest species of ducks in the world, the African Comb Duck, now called the Knob-billed Duck, confuses taxonomists who are still uncertain which ducks it’s most closely related to. It’s found in freshwater swamps and lakes in Sub-Saharan Africa, I’ve seen it in Uganda. Only males have that distinctive knob on the upper bill.
