Glaucidium siju
Order: Strigiformes
Family: Strigidae (Owls)
This Cuban endemic is diurnal like other pygmy owls, calls frequently, and is often mobbed by small birds. It feeds on insects, frogs, small reptiles, mammals, and birds. On her two trips to Cuba, Laura found several extremely cooperative individuals.
