Laura Erickson's For the Birds

This recording is barely 3 seconds long but in addition to the wingbeats, you can hear four chip notes. This was at the same feeder as the photo, which was taken just a few minutes before I made the recording not long after sunrise. She never seems to hover long when I’m recording here–just about every time she visits, she hovers just a moment before sitting down to drink, and zips off so quickly when finished that I can’t pick up the sound when she leaves.
