Laura Erickson's For the Birds

This tody was very close to the road where I was standing not long after dawn. I got a few photos before he flew off. I’m pretty sure there was a pair and that the bird calling (the one in the photos) was the male because the pink side feathers are so conspicuous. (From what I’ve read, females have identical plumage but keep those side feathers hidden under their wings.) I got the recording via my Canon R5, but the video itself was pretty poor.
